Dancer Health Program Description
Dancer Health is a class that is offered for levels 3 and above. Dancer Health is in its second year at Peak Academy. It is a class that introduces dancers to holistic practices that are vital for a dancer's longevity and wellness. Dancers will be exposed to anatomical terms, strength-building exercises, stability exercises, nutrition, and other wellness practices. Each class will be guided by the Dancer Health team: Kathryn Van Riper, Michele Major, and Danielle Heller. This class will also have several guest teachers. There will be a Licensed Massage Therapist, Ellum Kelley, to teach them about fascial decompression and self-care. A nurse, Keyli Kelliher,  who will speak to the importance of sleep and its effect on dancers' health. Additionally, there will be a teacher, Kristina Shepard, who specializes in cross-training. Kristina has her doctorate in neuroscience and teaches at the university level. The faculty who co-teach this class bring over 40 years of highly specialized training and professionalism to their craft. 

Official Dress Code for Dancer Health Class 
Dancers can wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Dancers will be required to purchase Therabands ($12), balance dots ($12), and a few other components for this class. Yoga mats are optional but highly encouraged.

Turns and Leaps Class Description
Turns and Leaps is for dancers in levels 3 and up. It must be taken in tandem with the Dancer Health Class. In this class, students apply the concepts that they are learning in Dancer Health to a variety of turn and leap sequences that they do in a variety of different classes. This class is focused on concept application and is not a performance class. Students will not perform content in this class during the Spring and Winter Recitals. This is strictly a technique, application class for growth in strength, flexibility, and timing.

Dancers can wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Dancers will be required to bring their water bottles and a variety of different types of shoes to class.
